SXSWrecap Photo Diary - GO.CO Blog

sxsw blog

So, you just got back from SXSW and are probably experiencing exhaustion, business card overload and may have even lost your voice from pitching your business one too many times. We’re going through symptoms of withdrawal – we’re missing all the .COol free schwag, the amazing company of our .CO-ers and just the overall fantastic energy that seems to overtake the streets of Austin.

I wish there was a way to bottle up the feel of being at SXSWi surrounded by innovators, starters and some of the brightest minds. It’s truly an incredible experience – between the official SXSW panels and parties and then the super creative and eye-catching marketing ploys and parties around the city – I feel extremely lucky to have been able to experience it all twice! Here’s my attempt at capturing some of the magic to share with you…

* * *

We arrived in Austin to a boardroom full of boxes stacked to the ceiling of .CO schwag, which we quickly got into order and then headed to Torchy’s Tacos to satisfy our taco craving.

Anyone else suffer from Torchy’s cravings when NOT in Austin?

International Women’s Day called for a celebration! We toasted to Women’s Day with the talented ladies of WIM.co (Women Innovate Mobile) who threw a fantastic event, which included a fabulous panel moderated by Kelly Hoey, featuring Dell’s Entrepreneur in Residence, Ingrid Vanderveldt, L’Oreal’s Rachel Weiss and Twitter’s Sara Haider.

Next, we were off to the fantastic 500 Startups & Eric Ries’ LeanStartupSXSW.co event where Travis Kalanick (CEO of Uber), Dave McClure (Founder of 500.co) and our very own founder, Juan Diego Calle all had lots to share with a packed house that was twice the size of last year’s! Dave was curious to see “Who here has a .CO?!” – we were thrilled that nearly half the room did!

.CO VIP’s enjoyed special seating and we enjoyed giving out #startuplife t-shirts 🙂

We chowed down on an authentic ramen lunch at the Stage on Sixth with the Tech.co crew while .CO VIP’s not only enjoyed the food and photo booth fun but some also sat down for video interviews with Tech Cocktail.

We mingled with .CO VIP’s during Startup America’s “Celebration of American Startups” VIP reception. The Thirst.co team (winner of our Vine.co contest for a booth space) had set up shop on the mezzanine with a fantastic booth and t-shirts that everyone wanted to get their hands on!

We watched Engine.co rock a pitch on the Austin City Limits stage, Wahwah.co award a seriously cool bike to one lucky member of the Austin City Limits audience and then… we just had to have some fun with our crazy photobooth by thebos.co.

Over at the Stage on Sixth, the party kept on going with lots #startuplife schwag and a crazy line of people formed to take pics using all our fun props. We’re a hands on team so obviously we had to get in on the fun too!

Medicast.co and infoactive.co showcased their brilliant startups at the Tech Cocktail event.

The speeker.co team worked the crowd at the Hilton for SXSW’s Startup Showcase – their BIG screen of fun Speeker app pictures of SXSW certainly caught everyone’s eye!

As tired as everyone may have been, .CO VIP’s gathered at Capital Factory for Sunday Funday, a celebration of our CEO, Juan Diego Calle’s birthday.

…In our eyes, it doesn’t get much better than a huge group of .COmmunity members gathering for tacos, beer, cupcakes and great music provided by wahwah.co. (And once again, we couldn’t resist more fun with thebos.co photobooth!)

The party continued on 6th Street for our founder, Juan’s birthday where we celebrated with our amazing partners!

Thanks to our friends at S.co Juan even got his own birthday roast…
