Who is Hongchuan Huang?

答:我是黄鸿川,是舒信教育的创始人兼CEO。今年成为了2017福布斯中国30位30岁以下精英榜单人物。舒信教育是我和我的团队在2013年底创办的一家教育公司,最早专注于商业启蒙教育和职业体验教育业务,发展到今天有了包括“商赛人”、“学习狗”和“书生行”三个子品牌,已经慢慢衍生成了帮助家庭、校园、企业提供一整套文化教育解决方案的供应商和执行者。
A: My name is Hongchuan Huang. I am the founder and CEO of SupSing Education (SupSing.co). This year I became one of the youngest nominees of the Forbes “30 Under 30 China 2017” list in the field of social entrepreneurship and education. Founded in late 2013, SupSing Education started with focuses on business education and career coaching for middle school students in China mainland. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive education solution provider with wider service categories including business competitions, campus tours, and also support for primary school-aged children and their families.

What inspired or motivated you to start your business venture?
是什么样的缘由,促使你开始了创业之路呢?

答:我是一个在广州长大的潮汕人,骨子里有着潮汕人创业的基因。在我中学的时候就已经有了做小生意的创业经历,当时通过卖校园纪念品、自己收藏的邮票,还有开淘宝店卖一些游戏机和手机,赚得了人生第一桶“小金”。
本科在香港求学时一次会计考试的挂科经历让我意识到中国内地中学在财经商业启蒙教育上的不足,于是我萌生了在内地普及商业启蒙教育的想法。舒信教育的第一个品牌“商赛人”——一个商业基础课程普及的项目,就是在这样的情况下诞生的。
A: I am a native Chaoshanese born in Guangzhou. Chaoshan people are famous for the talents of running their own businesses, and I guess that I inherited the genes of my ancestors in that way. When I was in middle school, I had already learned to make money by running small businesses, such as selling campus souvenirs, stamps and mobile phones online or at school.
Failing an accounting exam in my freshman year during my college study in Hong Kong made me realize that there is a lack of financial and business education in the secondary education in mainland China. Then I initiated the idea of popularizing business education among middle school students in mainland China to help them better prepare for college studies and future career. That is when I first decided to start my own education company and the first business education brand of SupSing Education.

答:非常感谢.CO的邀请,为我提供了这样一个平台。虽然我觉得自己可能还不是特别有经验,但我希望我的故事可以启发更多年轻的创业者们。希望能有更多的年轻人加入我们创业大军中来,通过创业和商业让这个社会变得更加美好。
A: I am grateful that .CO provides me with such an excellent platform to spread the positive energy of entrepreneurship. Although I am not experienced enough to be a role model, I still hope that my story could inspire more young entrepreneurs. I hope that more ambitious young people will join the startup community, and make our world a better place with their brilliant ideas.

What are you most proud of in your startup journey?
给和大家分享一个你在创业过程中,让自己“引以为傲”的事情吧。

答:最让我自己感到骄傲的事情就是入选了“福布斯中国30位30岁以下精英”榜单,而且是作为社会企业及教育领域最年轻的入选者。有点意料之外,但也算是情理之中吧。虽然与做科技或金融的其他入选者相比,教育并不是一个十分赚钱或者光鲜的行业,但是我确实感觉到自己在这个过程当中帮助了更多的人实现了他们的价值,帮助他们找到了未来的方向,这也让我感到十分骄傲。
A: Being nominated as one of the candidates of the Forbes “30 Under 30 China 2017” list is the thing that made me feel most proud ever since I began my startup journey. The nomination is a little unexpected but also makes sense considering all my efforts during these years. Although education is not a lucrative or glamorous business compared to finance or high-tech, I do feel that I have helped more people find their future direction and realize their value, which makes me feel proud as well.

What was your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur? How did you overcome it? What was the lesson learned?
在创业过程中,你最“难”的时候是?是怎么克服的?有什么“经验教训”能和大家分享一下吗?

答:在2014年末时候,由于团队内部的意见分歧,一些创始成员逐渐退出,对我来说是很大的打击。这让我意识到公司越做大,人员流动就会越高,人员的退出是无法避免的。于是我开始调整心态,并且重新构建公司人力资源结构,度过了难关。另外,品牌在初期推广的时候也可以说是困难重重,这教会了我们需要学会借力,不管是去挂靠一些知名的机构组织,还是寻找更优秀的合伙人。因为其实做任何生意都好,前期都是一个信任机制建立的过程。
A: It was a big blow for me when some of our founding members decided to quit due to some disagreements within our team in late 2014. The incident makes me realize that the bigger a company grows, the higher the turnover rate will be, which is unavoidable. Then I started to adjust my mindset and rebuild the company’s human resources structure. Finally, SupSing Education stepped back on track after some time. Additionally, we also went through a hard time doing our initial brand promotion at the very early stage of the company, and third-party endorsement became especially significant during that period.

Do you have any advice for someone thinking about starting their own business?
对于即將开始创业的人们,你有什么话想对他们说?

答:我觉得作为创业者有三个关键词是需要我们做到的。首先是“坚持”,这点对于创业者来讲是非常难的,很多创业者都有着非常好的开始,但是最后因为坚持不下去而失败。第二个关键词是“专注”,这个词有多方面的含义,但最关键的是要去专注于某一个领域,术业有专攻,去专注地做好。最后一个关键词是“乐观”,因为在创业过程中会有这样那样的困难,和高高低低的荣誉,一定要保持一个乐观的心态来面对一切,这样才能让你在曲折的创业道路上收获更多。
A: I think there are three keywords that young entrepreneurs need to follow to achieve success. The first one is perseverance, because many entrepreneurs have a promising start but finally fail as they cannot stick to their business during hard times. The second is focus, which means you need to select and then stick to a specific concentration when running your own business. Be focused and then be a master. The last keyword I would like to highlight is optimism, since there will be all kinds of difficulties hindering your success along the way. The more faith you have in yourself, the more you will gain during the startup journey.
