Although women are fighting to break into tech and #breakthebias, a dismal truth continues to loom within the industry: women-led startups received less than 2.3% of venture capital funding in 2021. That’s why it’s critical for women founders and funders alike to continue to band together, and for all consumers to proactively support women-led businesses whenever possible. Enter The Riveter, which to date has raised more than $27 million in venture funding.
In 2017, Amy launched The Riveter while pregnant with her third daughter in three years (and welcomed a fourth daughter in June 2019). Riveter Spaces partners with top hotels offering exclusive access to gathering spaces and amenities for lobby coworking, private meetings, and discounts on Food & Beverage and more.
While The Riveter started out as an “IRL” experience in Seattle, the startup organization has evolved into a thriving global online community of working women and allies, creating campaigns, and digital programming to bring women together. It is also on a mission to provide working women– especially working parents– the support to not just survive, but to thrive.
While many women are taking on male-dominated industries like tech and finance, founders like Nelson are creating new industries altogether via the power of innovation. She and her peers are utilizing the power of the web to connect and empower ambitious women on a global scale.
