ICT Spring Recap | GO.CO Blog

I attended the ICT Spring in Luxembourg mid June. It’s known as the most inspiring tech event in Europe. The visit was noteworthy in many ways—it featured Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, as a keynote speaker; attracted more than 150 exhibitors, and most importantly—for me—there were 180 startups.  Joy!

Our partner EuroDNS who are based in this Luxembourg had invited me to this conference (Thank You!). It’s always great to meet partners at their home base to get to know them and learn more about their customers.

While I was making my way to the convention center, I met two young entrepreneurs that not only showed me the way as I was a bit lost, but introduced me to a great team of .CO-ers, Swingmail.co.  Swingmail is a startup from Japan that was exhibiting and promoting their service that helps you to get rid of multiple inboxes and collects and combines all your messages from Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, and phone messages in to one. Check out their cool t-shirts—says it all, doesn’t it?

I also met the team of Hauteapp.co, who travelled quite a long distance to come to Luxembourg. Mark flew in from California, and Marcel from Hong Kong. Haute is a consumer friendly app for your shopping experience. The app will display the important shopping information often desired on a single screen, without continuously scrolling on your tablet or smartphone. Even though they haven’t launched officially, they’ve already signed up global fashion brands. They’ve built a very impressive app, and I wish them the best of luck.

Another startup I was excited to see was Heystack.co from Israel. This matchmaking app allows you to search for singles, friends of friends, check for common interests, and get in touch with the individuals that strike you as interesting. Heystack has already collected several accolades—even before having launched—by the Huffington Post and the TheNextWeb to name a few. As part of their participation in ICT Spring,  they pushed the button and launched in the UK and Germany. Congratulations, Heystack!

All in all, the event was successful and there were many startups that were able to fuel their dreams into reality.  I look forward to the next ICT!
